I was a bit confused that the upcoming council meeting in Alfard is apparently how the emperor gets picked, but it seems to not be mutually exclusive with voting.
This is a child speaking so it is not clear whether this is an oligarchy or just that children don’t vote.
Child: “They’re holding a council meeting to decide the new emperor soon. That’s all anyone is talking about.” Child: “For us folks without a vote, though, this election is a slap in the face. I’d really rather not talk about it.”

There is exactly ONE guy happy that the Nunki forest got burned down and of course it’s an Imperial. Boooooo

One more candidate for Sedna. That’s one from Pherkad, one from Sheliak, one from Sheratan... There’s probably one in Komo Mai and one in Mintaka, then.
