First stop: Greater Mintaka. The spinning kid’s finally moved and now this room’s open, with a treasure and some unimportant flavor text about instruments.

We turn in the sidequest to a guard because Geldoblame can’t be arsed to receive us I guess. We have much more important business with him anyway…
It’s really weird that no one around Verus comments on, you know, EVERYTHING?

Just holding it is enough to flood you with warm and fuzzy feelings. The downside: you look like an ass playing with this. Beware of regression!”

See, Verus sounds perfectly reasonable and Geldoblame says the same thing but just HAS to make it weird. I’m getting out of here and so should this Greythorne.
Verus: “Quiet. I’m too busy to play with you right now.” Geldoblame: “I am sorry, but I can’t play with you here. Such a terrible shame…”

Since items have finally turned the rest of the session was more sidequest clean-up.
It’s funny how much of the regular navigation gets used for story scenes: one of the fluffpups running after the man got stuck against Sagi.
Man of Broken Dreams: “Seen any [blue text] gold nuggets [end blue text] lyin’ around?” Over the open Quest Magnus inventory, focused on a Gold Nugget. Man of Broken Dreams: “D-Do you think I could make a fresh start? Well, this time I’ll do my damnedest!” Man of Broken Dreams: “I’m not alone this time. I’ve got these fluffpups with me! Thank you.” Sagi now standing alone, blocking one of the fluffpups.

To Human Sagi, Almarde pretended she needed nothing more. To Greythorne Sagi, she mentioned poor Lyuvann not liking anything she cooks because it doesn’t have the right taste.
Errands Greythorne to the rescue.
Sagi as a Greythorne: “Squ-squeeeak?” Over the open Quest Magnus menu, focused on Goopy Machina Oil. Almarde: “Goodness, so this is what they use? I see, it’s… thick. Hehe, thank you!”

I knew this was coming courtesy of an especially horrifying cryptic emoji semi-spoiler from @ChaoticBlades but, nonetheless: ew.
Also I recall another quest establishing pretty clearly that this stuff’s not exactly soothing.
Almarde: “Will you listen for a while? Lyuvann’s wounds have closed completely.” Almarde: “Even though I should be happy, I feel this terrible ache in my heart…” Almarde: “I read somewhere that [red text] shaved ice filled with love works on an aching heart [end red text]!” Almarde: “We have plenty of ice here in Azha, but what do they mean it should be filled with love? Oh, my heart…”

Couldn’t figure out the exact item, though. The quest text suggests the Love Syrup itself should be enough, but it isn’t.
A direct mix with Flame Ice doesn’t work, neither does one with Sparkling Snow.
Guess I’ll be looking it up next time.

Also why is Almarde taking care of this jerk rather than the poor person who’s been sprawled on the floor for like two months at this point? Terrible priorities all around.
Lyuvann: “Mumble mumble… But I have a wife and children… Yes, but I mustn’t…” Villager lying on the ground under the well: “Something fell again… I’m bleeding…! Bleeding!! D-Dammit! What’s going on…?!”

Next time: more running around grabbing and aging and mixing Quest Magnus, seeing how much I can feed to Pac and how many things I can complete, with GameFAQ’s help because I don’t want to miss stuff.
Also more Greythorne chats? Maybe the Diadem one? We’ll see!
