To the delightfully named Garden of Death we go, there is a magical sword to be found.
You know what’s always great in videogames? Slowed-down walking speed.

Such a lovely place.
Mostly it’s slow-walking and a bunch of the annoying enemies that can resurrect their friends, not much to see here.
A dark brown, muddy area. Title card: “Capella, Garden of Death”

The heart of the garden looks a lot nicer, though!
A small temple in the middle of green grass and clean water.

I swear this is the point where the plot just stops giving a fuck.
The entire party around an empty pedestal. Great Mizuti: “The Sword of the Heavens be here.” Kalas: “...Well, I don’t see it.” Great Mizuti: “On the pedestal, over there...” Gibari: “There’s nothing there.”

THIS SURE WAS A USEFUL TRIP.
At least we’re teleported out instead of having to walk through the mud twice.
Lyude: “Could someone have taken it?” Kalas: “Let’s get outta here.” The world map of Duhr, now with more accessible places.

Going back to Gemma doesn’t yield any info. The new areas include the port (empty) and Zosma tower (where someone tells us no one is allowed in).
So the last option is...
A dreary village. Title card: “Algorab Village”
Lia @liareplaysbk · 11:59 PM · Dec 01, 2020 Permalink
Unlike Gemma, where people don’t ressent their role, Algorab is packed with annoyed villagers who are tired of breathing bad air for what they feel is an outdated mission.
The wives are, as always, Reasonable and Accepting Of Their Plight in comparison.
Villager: “Hey, you in the back. The little one. You’re from Gemma, right?” Villager: “You people still talking about sealing the evil god, and all that nonsense?” Villager: “Now that Malpercio’s seal has been broken, there’s no reason for us to stay down here.” Villager: “He just always thinks the grass is greener on the other side, somewhere he’s never been.”

The other type of dialog is that the mayor seems up to something.
Villager: “So, where’s Krumly gone to? Did he manage to talk some sense into the Great Kamroh?” Villager: “Well, he hasn’t told me directly, but from the looks of it, things didn’t go too well.” Villager: “The Mayor came back a short while ago, but he left again in a hurry.”

Item descriptions as dunks on characters, illustrated example:
Inspection text: “A book catches your eye... “The Ideal Village Mayor - Revised by Krumly” Inspection text: “Looks like a self-sponsored publication.”

We eventually run into a voiced conversation and er this looks like a very, very bad idea.
Villager: “He left just a few minutes ago. He said he was going to offer the Sword of the Heavens to a god.” Xelha: “But isn’t this place protected from gods by a magic field, cast by ancient wizards?” Villager: “He said he’d go to Zosma Tower, at the center of the enchantment, [cont]” Villager: “[cont] dispel the magic shield, and allow Malpercio to enter...”

Great Mizuti: “This be bad, Kalas. Must hurry!” Villager: “I know we’re running out of options, but I wonder if he’s gone too far.”

NEXT TIME: We go push blocks a whole lot and fail to stop the bad things once more.
