Alright, let’s go take care of that boss battle. There will be another pile of dialog bookending that, so I probably won’t get much else done?

“Our fight at the Goldoba” definitely ended with you all blowing up, and keeping a low profile seems... not easy for this bunch, but SURE. Interesting that even they had no idea about Mélodia, because that makes their absence in Anuénué even weirder.

‘Cause Giacomo was there in Sadal Suud, in Diadem, in Mira, but not in Anuénué, which was a big part of this particular bit of drama. Gonna call plot hole on this one.

Larikush was already hinting at Georg’s obsessive behavior, this confirms it. Must have been quite the terrible dad.

Giacomo throws a bunch of weird things at the wall, which start emitting a field of... hypertoxic soundwaves apparently. This is solely for drama value because the only effect is not making Guardian Spirit spells appear, and they’re too random to rely on to begin with.

It’s kind of a summary of this whole arc: introducing new elements for twists and turns, without really solid grounding for them. Meh.

Flashback time! It’s the night of Fee’s death again, but this time we get a bit more of the scene. Kalas was not going to make it either. (It’s still not the entire scene welp)

This is officially too much Kalas Lore Dump in too few hours. Like, sure, have both the “you’re artificial” and “by the way you contain your also artificial brother” things, but space them out A LOT MORE.

In the meantime, he’s crushed Kalas’ Winglet under his foot. So the thing... floats off the ground, causing the statue in the back to break and reveal a NEW Winglet. I GUESS. Cut from those screencaps: Xelha going “Kalas!” a lot.

MOAR FLASHBACK, this time featuring a Younger Kalas portrait that’s almost adorable. Mostly it’s Georg dodging questions by over-explaining Wings of the Heart.

Fee doesn’t get that much characterization, and to me both his portrait and voice casting play against the “sweet angel child” angle the text tries to go for. Also are his ears pointy? And that goes unremarked on? I GUESS

Excellent points all around and oh-so-ripe for post-game fanfic to go ham with. As I’ve maybe mentioned, if there’s ONE underlying theme to this entire game, it’s that forgiveness and redemption are possible and necessary, but not built on forgetting.

And that’s this veeeeeery long segment done, phew. It’s got really great bits of background but the beat-by-beat is so much more of a mess than it should be. And yes, we again get teleported away from a treasure chest so we’ll get to come back.

Said teleport is back to Corellia’s throne room, where not much has changed except for “some reports”, which are pointers to character-specific sidequests. The Celestial Alps were Kalas’ and mandatory, the other ones are optional AFAIK.

Catranne’s on infodesk duty, and will repeat those as many times as we need if we forget where to go. Each quest gets us the last Class Up item, the level 8 finisher, but mostly a whole bunch of story.

Anuénué’s got a weird book. I wish this was a touch more specific, because by default it’ll send you on a goose chase in the library, unless you remember that the Principal of the School of Magic was mumbling about a strange book.

Mira obviously has to out-bizarro everyone and has a ghost ship full of crying ghosts. Sounds fun and joyful! (The idea of Catranne-the-half-bird getting “goose bumps” is also hilarious and I wonder whether there’s also a pun in Japanese)
