Well, not today, checking every single bit of possible NPC dialog on half the islands took too long and I’m dead tired.

The Celestial Alps had two family members and a bunch of loot. It’s more shitty fat jokes, you literally push one of them up a hill because as we all know, fat people can’t possibly walk by themselves.
Fuck this a lot, moving on.

In jokes that actually mostly land, we have some lampooning of typical JRPG nonsense via Expository NPC Self-Awareness.
Pherkad citizen: “Oh, it’s you again. You wanna hear the same old greeting?” Pherkad citizen: “Okay. Ahem. Pretend you’re hearing it for the first time.” Pherkad citizen: “Welcome to Pherkad, the Ancient Capital. This is the most prosperous town in Sadal Suud.” Pherkad citizen: “Hey, don’t look so unenthused. I’m not sure why I keep reciting these phrases myself.”

And this one is DELIGHTFUL.
This guy’s been our source of the Popular Pickup Line Quest Magnus since we reached Anuénué, with some variation in dialogue. His interlocutor always swooned.
But now it stopped working. He gets punched in the face a lot, then tries on someone else!
Pick-up artist: “Even if the world should end now, my love for you will last forever.” Woman getting hit on: “You sleazebag! You’re a pestilence to womankind. Feel the spite of a deceived woman!” The woman punches the pick-up artist in the face a lot. A woman with a red dress has replaced the woman with a blue dress.

The first version of the line (a comparison to Queen Corellia, when we first reach Komo Mai) has him talking to a Diadem woman in red, who tells him to knock it off for lack of originality and doesn’t let us get the Magnus.

At some point while going through Anuénué, he’s instead making a metaphore about the Celestial Tree to a Sadal Suud woman, which makes the Magnus available and is well-received.
Neat little detail.

Or procrastinating via RenderDoc, because it struck me that I could solve the snow mystery that way. We’ll see, got some 200h of idling time left to churn through because I started that late ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
